 | Subject: Types of Users & Groups on the IVA Site Tue Oct 26, 2010 1:22 pm | |
| Orientation:MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION PROCEDURE:Membership of the basic levels of this forum is open to anyone in the interests of transparency. However, before members can be approved and assigned to a specified User Group, their credentials and role need to be assessed by Executive Council. USER GROUPS:(In ascending order) - Visitors to the site:
These are ordinary non registered visitors who look around out of curiosity and can only access the most basic unsecured areas of the site, specifically parts of the Information section. The only place they can post is in the Guest Book.
- Members (of the site):
These are registered ordinary members who do not belong to any of the other User Groups. They hold no portfolio, and can only observe certain areas of the site, such as the General Public Information & Portal, and they can only post in the Registered Members Discussion Area. Members of Designated User Groups:(These are members who have been approved and assigned or appointed to positions by Executive Council.) - Observers level 3: Invited guests who can view slightly restricted areas, but not areas where Congressional debate occurs, such as within Conclaves or Congress. Access is restricted to observation only, without posting rights. Posting is reserved for areas where public input is desired.
- Observers Level 2: Invited guests who can view more restricted areas (except the Executive Council, IVA Congress and Regional Conclaves sub-forums), but not comment on them. Posting is reserved for areas where public input is desired. For example, journalists who have applied for access would fit into this group.
- Observers Level 1: Invited guests who can view some higher level restricted areas (such as IVA Congress) and comment, give input or suggestions, and interact with Executive Council members, Ambassadors and Delegates. This would include guests such as Vampyre, Otherkin or Mundane community stakeholders and representatives of other invited corporate entities. These members are only given Observer status for the period required, after which they are downgraded back to Member status.
- Moderators: Appointed staff who manage the forum, detailed to specific forum areas, 2 per area. Moderators ideally need to be available to monitor the forum areas, spread across various time-zones.
- Delegates: The designated Delegates of each country Conclave. These members are assistants to one particular Conclave Ambassador, and are delegated by their particular Ambassador to act in their stead should they not be available. Delegates will be House, Coven or Group leaders from the same country Conclave as the Ambassador. These members have no access to restricted areas such as Executive Council, nor access to any other country Conclave but to that Conclave which they represent. They have full access to IVA Congress, where the general group interaction takes place.
- Ambassadors: The appointed Ambassadors of each country conclave. These members have no access to restricted areas such as Executive Council, nor access to any other country Conclave but to that Conclave which they represent. They have full access to IVA Congress, where the general group interaction takes place.
- Executive Council: This is the leader and decision-making group for the IVA, which consists of representatives from various Conclaves, or notable Vampyre community bodies of major significance. They have full access to all areas of the site, and some also have Admin status.
- Administrators: These are the site Administrators, and this should be self-explanatory.
